Certificates can be listed on resumes, shared with employers, and used to support career advancement, promotions, or new role opportunities within the banking industry.

Yes. CFTEA certificates are designed to build practical, job-relevant skills that support promotions, role transitions, and professional growth across banking roles and departments.

A CFTEA certificate is a bundled group of courses focused on a specific area of banking or professional development. Certificates are often offered at a cost savings and help build knowledge and skills within a defined field of study.

A CFTEA certification goes a step further. Certifications include a comprehension exam or assessment that validates expertise and demonstrates the ability to apply knowledge at a professional level. Certifications serve as a higher-level credential that showcases mastery in a particular subject area.

A certificate of completion simply indicates that a course was finished. A CFTEA certificate represents the completion of a structured learning program, often with additional assessments or projects that demonstrate understanding of key concepts.

Most CFTEA certificates allow 6 months for completion, though timelines may vary by certificate. If you need additional time, extensions can be purchased.

You may request an information transcript (at no cost) from the CFTEA office at any time to compare completed work against the award worksheet requirements.

You may also request a free completion report that identifies any certificate, certification, or diploma for which you are within three courses of completion. While system-generated reports may not be fully accurate, the CFTEA office reviews each report before it’s mailed to you.

CFTEA issues certificates annually in June.
