Center for Financial Training and Education Alliance (CFTEA) follows a strict confidentiality policy regarding CFTEA student records. All requests for CFTEA student records must be in writing from the student. The one exception to this requirement is for the authorized representative at the student’s financial institution to receive the students grade upon the completion of classes, and receive transcript information on employees for personnel files. Students sign an authorization to release this information to their employer when they register for a CFTEA course. Below are the types of record-keeping services available from the CFTEA.
CFTEA maintains all student records on a permanent file at the CFTEA administrative office. Students who wish to obtain a copy of their CFTEA student record (transcript) should complete the CFTEA Student Request For Record-keeping Services Form. A $10.00 administrative fee must accompany the request. All requests will be honored within ten days of receipt of the request form and payment.
Most colleges and universities require an official transcript when students request a transfer of CFTEA credit. An official transcript costs $10.00. The official transcript fee, along with the Student Request for Record-keeping Services Form, should be forwarded to the CFTEA office. CFTEA will send your official transcript directly to the college. Many colleges and universities accept CFTEA credits toward their degree programs; however, please keep in mind, no college is required to accept transfer credit from any other educational facility, regardless of accreditation status.
Credit for completed college courses may be transferred to a student’s CFTEA transcript. In order to receive transfer credit into a CFTEA students record, students will need to complete the CFTEA Student Request For Record-keeping Services Form, and forward it to the CFTEA office and call the office to pay the the $90.00 transfer credit evaluation fee by credit card. Please instruct your college to send your transcript directly to the CFTEA office.
Classes must be completed satisfactorily with final grades of “C” or better in order to be eligible for transfer. On file at the CFTEA office are course catalogs from various colleges, listing course descriptions. If we do not have a course catalog on file for the college you attended and we cannot find course descriptions for the classes you would like transferred on the college’s website, we may ask that you send a catalog to us before we can evaluate your transcript. A fee of $90.00 is assessed for the evaluation of transfer credit which must accompany the request. Please allow two weeks from the date of our receipt of your request to our confirmation of transfer credit.
Upon completion of the transfer credit evaluation by CFTEA students will receive a CFTEA transcript reflecting which college credits were accepted into their CFTEA student record. A fee of $90 per transferred course is charged prior to receiving the credit.
A file is opened for a student when his/her first enrollment form for any class arrives at the CFTEA office. Beginning with the Fall, 2019 semester, student records will be maintained by the a student’s month and day of birth. Should you desire not to provide us with this information, we will assign a student identification number to the enrollment listed on the enrollment form. Records under this student id number may not contain your entire file, and may require research for a fee in order to combine all of your information in our CFTEA files under your student number.
Often a student will change his/her place of employment, last name, etc. Occasionally a student’s name is misspelled on his/her records and should be corrected. Please do not allow an error in a name or a change of name or place of employment to remain incorrect. Complete a Student Request For Record-keeping Services Form and forward the signed request to CFTEA office. Due to student privacy laws, all requests must include with the student’s signature on the request form.
When I started with TowneBank, many of the CFTEA courses were recommended to give me a concrete banking foundation. My manager was extremely helpful in recommending lending classes that would apply directly to my day-to-day activities to enhance my success in my new role.
Topics around lending and the character of a bank’s borrowers are something I apply in my daily work. Learning from CFTEA is an extremely valuable tool to me.
Thomas Bruce, Branch Manager
I had never taken an online course before, so I didn’t know what to expect. The materials and the instructor were great! Honestly, the classes provided by CFTEA surpassed my expectations. I never knew I could learn so much from online courses!
I consider my training to be a wonderful learning opportunity. I consider CFTEA courses a wonderful learning opportunity and I am so pleased I was able to participate.

During my career, I have encouraged employees to take advantage of what CFTEA has to offer—to build a foundation, confidence and be more engaged in their career. As managers, we need to work with our employees to provide them the tools, education and opportunities to be successful.
As I reflect on my experiences with CFTEA, it is so much more than book knowledge. CFTEA courses were the best fit for me.
Christine Morin, Senior VP, Chief Risk & Loan Operations Officer, Mascoma Bank
Having an online resource, like CFTEA’s MindEdge programs allow me to review course content and provide the flexibility to cover new material an hour or two at a time on my schedule.”

CFTEA has a partnership program with St. Joseph’s College for a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a Banking Major. It was great to see that there are eleven courses from CFTEA that transfer directly
