Regional Community Advisory Council Spotlight: Casey Bailey, HR Training and Development Coordinator
Northfield Savings Bank

A huge welcome to our newest council member, Casey! CFTEA Regional Advisory Council members provide key insights into the needs of the community and provide professional expertise with diverse perspectives. They are truly CFTEA champions! Council members are always invited as observers to board meetings and may advance to become board members.

Casey has been involved with CFTEA for a number of years and joined Executive Director, Andrew Lederer, at the 2023 Training Conference and Expo as an attendee. In speaking of her experience with CFTEA over the years, Casey had this to say:

“CFTEA helped me start my career in banking by providing courses that allowed me to expand my financial knowledge. CFTEA’s courses, certificates, and diplomas can cater to so many different financial career paths – there is truly something for everyone!”

Casey noted why now was a great time to join the council:

“Now that I am in a position where I help others start their career in banking, the advisory council will give me the opportunity to engage with others in the learning and development community.  I can learn from them and better help our new employees.

When I think of CFTEA, so many wonderful things come to mind, but flexibility stands out the most. I started in Training & Development right at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, so not only was I learning a new job, but I needed to come up with a way to keep the training going in a time when we couldn’t gather in groups. CFTEA’s options of online learning and guided learning allowed employees to keep learning and growing, but also help keep them safe and healthy.”

One thing that is unique in the council is the sharing and support found among peers that are champions of lifelong learning. Networking with such a supportive group also provides unique opportunities for Casey.

“Having a community of other trainers that I can reach out to for advice and to learn from will be one of the most rewarding parts of being a council member. Also to be able to support CFTEA in the same ways they have supported me over the years.”

Council members provide a strong voice to CFTEA with learning on all sides as opportunities and challenges are discussed and appreciated. Welcome aboard, Casey! CFTEA and the council members are so excited to have you as part of the group as you lend your voice from Northfield Savings Bank!
