Donna Kennison, Mortgage Solution Specialist at Claremont Savings Bank, assists individuals in need while helping reduce the bank’s risk exposure.

“CFTEA’s Loan Collectors training reaffirmed and strengthened my ability to handle high-stress interactions with professionalism and empathy.”

In a role where conversations can be emotional and outcomes carry real consequences, staying grounded is not easy. Donna found that the course did more than build knowledge, it built confidence.

“It helped me become more confident in managing emotionally charged situations, maintaining my composure, and guiding conversations toward productive outcomes.”

But what stood out most was how real the learning experience felt.

“Knowing the course was developed by community banking professionals in our area made it feel very real and relevant.”

Taking that one course helped Donna see what could come next.

“It motivated me to consider pursuing a certificate in loan collections so I can continue growing my knowledge and contribute more effectively.”

She also shared how Claremont Savings Bank plays an important role in that journey.

“The availability of support to take CFTEA courses is important to me because it shows the organization is invested in my growth. This kind of support motivates and inspires me to reach new heights.”

And for Donna, that growth has been personal.

“My CFTEA experience directly shaped my career path, giving me a clear sense of direction and purpose while opening doors along the way.”

Her advice is simple.

“I’d strongly encourage anyone to try at least one class. It provides opportunities for growth and helps guide you toward the role you aspire to reach. It can be a lot to juggle, but working at your own pace at a time that works for you makes it worthwhile. The skills you gain are directly tied to the job and can create new opportunities.”

And along the way, support from the CFTEA office stood out.

“The immediate response and support I received was nothing short of exemplary. Tammy kept me on schedule and helped me work through challenges.”

Donna’s story is a great example of what happens when someone steps forward and an organization stands behind them. Congratulations on your success, Donna!! We look forward to seeing where your journey leads next.
