I was first introduced to CFTEA (Center for Financial Training and Education Alliance) in November of 2017 as a new banker. One of my mentors was eager to take some classes in person, but she didn’t want to take classes alone. I had never been one that enjoyed school. I was a very shy, self-conscious student. It took her some time, but my mentor’s eagerness and persistence lead me to taking my first CFTEA course, which lead to another, and ultimately lead to me being a teacher of ABA Principles of Banking for CFTEA. My experience with the community that is CFTEA inspired me to take a more active role by first joining the council, where I was an active member for 6 years and now, joining the board.

CFTEA has helped me enhance my skills and knowledge by providing an interactive learning environment and knowledgeable, encouraging and friendly instructors.

I was truly honored when I was selected to join the board. As someone who has used CFTEA’s community of leaders and resources for professional development to being considered a resource, it is confirmation to the growth that these opportunities have had in my career.

Joining the CFTEA board is not just a professional milestone for me, I am excited for the opportunity to help contribute to CFTEA’s growth and ensure that others can access the same opportunities that I have had. I look forward to promoting the resources for continuing education and professional development while welcoming new members to the CFTEA community. I am eager to collaborate with the entire CFTEA team to explore new avenues for growth and incorporating new technology into the curriculum and expanding the reach of CFTEA’s programs. I am excited for the opportunity to give back and help others achieve their goals.
