My first experience with CFTEA was when I had just graduated college. I had received my first job as a CSS (Assistant Branch Manager) position at a financial institution. I was filled with excitement and hope for this new position. I quickly learned that even though I learned lots during my studies, I knew little about banking and the professional jargon.

That is when I discovered CFTEA! They had a Bank Teller Certification program (Certified Modern Banking Representative) that would give me all the skills and knowledge I need for my new position. I quickly signed up for this class and dove right in. It was combination of instructor led classes and self-paced. The instructors were fantastic, and experts in their fields. I learned everything I needed and more!

What surprised me the most about CFTEA wasn’t just the technical knowledge I gained but it was the sense of community. The classes offered me to connect with other bankers. I was able to build a network of mentors and peers that continued with me throughout my early career.

Overall, I contribute that first Certification to my success so far in my banking career. I have been in banking almost 10 years now and I have taken many other Certificates and classes through CFTEA, and they all have been as great. I loved this community so much I now sit on the board.
