I have been a trainer, mentor, and coach in various industries and sectors for most of my adult life. When I joined the world of banking, I was introduced to (and eagerly became well-acquainted with) CFTEA as a trusted source of valuable information. I dove in to learn what I could, network with others in the same field, and gain new insights and perspectives on the direction my career had recently taken.

I had to learn Banking from the ground up, as I was tasked with training regulatory, technical, and skills-based topics with both competence and confidence. CFTEA was invaluable to me as I learned the ropes.

I was thrilled to find that CFTEA offered courses that were relevant to me outside of the financial realm as well. I took an adult learning class, for example, to refresh and refine my facilitation skills, which was both personally and professionally meaningful to me. There are even courses geared to other professions entirely, making CFTEA a powerful ally for anyone looking to get ahead in the world.

Before long, I was invited to speak at a CFTEA leadership conference by a contact I had cultivated, and then to join the organization’s advisory council. Since that time, I have gone on to become a board member, which has been a truly rewarding and fulfilling experience for me.

The network of people I have met and worked with through my association with CFTEA has become a valuable resource to me, and I often find myself reaching out to them for their knowledge and insights. Since we all share a common goal of “…empower[ing] students to achieve their goals,” and “…delivering specialized, relevant, and accessible educational programs,” I know that these like-minded individuals want me and my students to succeed as much as I do them and theirs.

One of the things I appreciate most about CFTEA is the very real sense of togetherness you get from its small-but-mighty community. From the hands-on assistance with registering for classes to the thoughtful approach to meeting each individual’s objectives with inclusive learning styles, there is never a time when I feel like I am out on my own. I always have someone to reach out to – whether it is for help, support, guidance, or good old-fashioned human connection, the professionalism and camaraderie at CFTEA can only be beat by its ability to provide affordable, high-quality content to its students.
