Regional Advisory Council Spotlight: Kayla Caikauskas, Learning and Organizational Development Supervisor

A huge welcome to our newest council member, Kayla! CFTEA Regional Advisory Council members provide key insights into the needs of the community and provide professional expertise with diverse perspectives. They are truly CFTEA champions! Council members are always invited as observers to board meetings to gain key insights into board governance with the opportunity to become board members in the future.

Why did Kayla want to join the advisory council? “CFTEA is an organization close to my heart. As a lifelong learner and passionate teacher, access to affordable training and education is something I feel very passionate about. Being a part of this council allows me to support an organization that I personally have been helped by in the past in a real and meaningful way.”

“I have used CFTEA for certifications in the past (most recently receiving my manager toolkit certificate) and provide it as a resource to the employees of our credit union. My employees and my peers find a lot of value in CFTEA and I am always enthusiastic about connecting them to courses in the expansive CFTEA catalog.” When reflecting on CFTEA’s core values of Trusted, Flexible, Passionate, and Innovative, Kayla wasn’t sure she had enough experience to comment but realized quickly that she did. “The organization has already demonstrated its core values! The flexibility of being able to find a position that is a good fit for me, the passion I’ve seen in the board members and other committee members as they find ways to nurture the industry, and the innovation of the content offered being adaptive and modern.”

Kayla is looking forward to networking “with an incredible group of professionals and knowing that I am directly contributing to the learning opportunities” in the community. And, what about the challenges facing her as a council member? “There are always challenges when being part of a council that supports such an important organization – those challenges come from knowing that what we do is so crucial and meaningful to many people. It will be challenging, but even more so – a rewarding experience.”
