This week’s Ask CFTEA question: “How do I get a copy of my transcript?”
There are two answers, depending on what you need it for.
If you want one for your own files, email Tammy. No charge, no form. She’ll send you an unofficial copy.
If you need an official transcript (most commonly because a college or university is asking for one), there’s a Recordkeeping Services Form on our website. The same form covers a few other situations too: transferring college credits to your CFTEA record, replacing a lost diploma or certificate, or updating your name or address on file.
Both the form and the full details are available here.
One thing worth knowing. If your transcript request is connected to transferring credits to or from a college, send Tammy a quick note before you submit anything. Colleges have their own rules about which CFTEA credits they’ll accept, and CFTEA has its own process for evaluating incoming college credits. A short conversation up front will save you time and possibly money.
If you’ve got a question for a future Ask CFTEA, drop it in the comments or send it our way.
