A horizontal, 1000 x 600 pixel chibi-style cartoon illustration featuring a cheerful female professional with blonde hair, glasses, and a headset sitting at an office desk. She is wearing a blue cardigan over a white collared shirt, gesturing toward a laptop with a CFTEA logo on it. To her left, large speech bubbles display a customer service conversation: "How do I get a copy of my transcript?" followed by the response, "Great question! You can easily request a copy of an unofficial or official transcript depending on your needs. We're here to help!" The expanded office background shows a desk equipped with a dual monitor setup displaying business charts, potted plants, binders, and a blue mug that reads "Investing in YOU." Behind her, a large window reveals an office building exterior. To her right, shelves are filled with colorful books, a framed "Training Center Campus" map, and certificates hanging on the wall. A small table sign on her desk reads "HERE TO HELP," alongside a spiral notepad listing "Questions, Answers, Support." A clock on the wall reads roughly 10:10. The entire bottom of the image is framed by a solid bright orange banner featuring the website text "cftea.org" in bold white lettering. This week’s Ask CFTEA question: “How do I get a copy of my transcript?”

There are two answers, depending on what you need it for.

If you want one for your own files, email Tammy. No charge, no form. She’ll send you an unofficial copy.

If you need an official transcript (most commonly because a college or university is asking for one), there’s a Recordkeeping Services Form on our website. The same form covers a few other situations too: transferring college credits to your CFTEA record, replacing a lost diploma or certificate, or updating your name or address on file.

Both the form and the full details are available here

One thing worth knowing. If your transcript request is connected to transferring credits to or from a college, send Tammy a quick note before you submit anything. Colleges have their own rules about which CFTEA credits they’ll accept, and CFTEA has its own process for evaluating incoming college credits. A short conversation up front will save you time and possibly money.

If you’ve got a question for a future Ask CFTEA, drop it in the comments or send it our way.
